Our Classic 50g Turnout Hood is the perfect supplement to the Classic 50g Turnout Rug. Designed for everyday turnout when your horse needs that extra coverage from the elements. It’s our extra light weight with 50g thermo-bonded filling, ideal for mild and dropping temperatures.

A light filling such as 40g or 50g is always recommended when temperatures start to drop as this can help against condensation build up on the inside of the rug and neck cover.

Made using a tough and durable 1200 denier outer fabric coated with Dupont™ Teflon® fabric protector to repel dirt and water. It’s highly breathable and waterproof with a rating of 7,000mm+ / 5,000g/m2+ and an added waterproof membrane for enhanced weather protection. The antibacterial, anti-static lining protects your horse's coat, maintaining its natural shine and health.

Our fit-first design gives your horse superior comfort and coverage during turnout with a larger cut to accommodate the thick muscular necks and long manes of heavy horses and draft breeds. The extended length allows our neck covers to extend with your horses natural neck extension as they graze, preventing any gaps for rain to get in. An additional extension at the base also prevents any gaps between the neck and the rug, ensuring your horse is full protected against the elements.

Security features include heavy duty double locking velcro fastenings for the front closure and to securely attach the neck cover to the rug.

Care Instructions

  • Machine washable at 30 degrees
  • Dry naturally
  • We recommend removing excess mud after use to help increase the longevity of the waterproofing and breathability

This item is true to size and we recommend opting for your horse's usual size.

If you have an Iberian horse the horse rug neck cover size suggestion will be different from the typical. Customers with these breeds usually take sizes Large or Extra Large depending on how muscular their horse's neck is.

  • Small is designed for horses & ponies with a short muscular neck, these horses will usually take a 5’6.
  • Medium is designed for horses & ponies with a short muscular neck, these horses will usually take a 5'9 - 6'3 size horse rug.
  • Hunter is designed for hunter type horses with a longer muscular neck, these horses will usually take a 6'6 - 6'9 size horse rug. The hunter size is the same width as the medium but is longer in length.
  • Large is designed for horses with thick muscular necks, these horses usually take a 6'9 - 7'0 size horse rug.
  • Extra Large is designed for horses with very thick muscular necks, these horses usually take a 7'3 - 7'6 size horse rug.
